We are Ruthie, the (All) Black of BlackDeer, a native Kiwi living in Dublin, and Fán, pronounced Fawn, the Deer, two friends who love spending time together making, messing and laughing. Time isn't always easy to come by. Right now, 
Ruthie has taken a step back to grow up two small people. Fán is kept busy managing a busy office. 
BlackDeer was the culmination of many years of saying we'd love to do something together. We met at a weekly Craft Fair in Dublin where we were both selling our wares - Ruth with beautifully made (really beautiful) sewn items, and Fán with her striking lino and block-prints. We've been the closest of friends ever since and have been through a lot together, and apart.Fast forward to October 2021 and a simple text saying " You wanna make some nice jewellery?". "YESSS!" Since then, we've been busily and happily pulling together designs, stockists, packaging, our logo, a photographer and a stunning model (our model, Aneta is an Environmental Scientist). We only choose items that we love, that we want to wear and that we would gift others. And so! BlackDeer was born.

Making an understatement. A gentle, careful approach to buying. Falling in love with something that will last. Small ranges with a local mindset. Our range will change with time and based on what we get quietly excited about.
